Broadband for Residential & Micro-Businesses
Community first …
Our product is different from every other broadband provider. That is a bold statement, but it is true.
We are a collaboration of businesses who have been working with community partners and stakeholders for more than three years to research and develop our unique model – a gigabit-capable broadband network delivered wirelessly that will not only offer customers superfast, ultrafast, hyperfast and gigabit speeds of connectivity but will also reinvest in the local community.
Alongside our network, from the late Spring of 2022, we plan to deliver managed, integrated digital communication and services that will support multiple audiences across the East Neuk – businesses, community groups, culture & tourism, education & training, environmental projects as well as wellbeing support. Through our managed channels we will share relevant and engaging content with our growing audience of residents and visitors.
The scale of that support will be determined by the numbers signing up to the service: the more who sign-up, the more we will be able to deliver. EastNeukNow is your community’s network.
Up is the new Down …
For more than a decade, broadband offerings have been defined by their download speeds – with 30MB per second deemed as ‘superfast’.
The unprecedented times since the first lockdown of 2020 have taught us that we all need more access to better connectivity – faster and more reliable. As more people create greater levels of content for sharing, the need for improved upload speeds increases.
And so ‘superfast’ will be our basic offering and we won’t just focus on download speeds.
Our packages will offer significantly higher speeds. Whatever download speed you choose, we will provide a third of that speed as the upload: 30MB down? 10MB up. Need 60MB download? We’ll provide it with 20MB upload … and so on across all our packages.
Environmentally friendly …
We work with wireless delivery. Anchored to fibre at key points, our gigabit-capable broadband is then delivered wirelessly with minimal environmental disruption.
Gone are the needs for costly, time-consuming digging of roads, streets, pathways and driveways. Our service means we can connect more people more swiftly – all with a lower impact on our environment.
Our wireless delivery also means that we do not rely on existing phone lines. We can offer phone services where your existing phone handset is connected to our network.
Our pricing …
We have created simple packages enabling customers to choose the right package to deliver the right level of connectivity.
Each is priced per calendar month and includes VAT+ as well as your dedicated router with built-in Wi-Fi.

Eligible for funding support?
Your property may be eligible for funding support to help with connecting your premises to better broadband.
Our delivery partner – TransmitAir Ltd – is registered as a supplier to the Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme (SBVS). The scheme is designed to provide funding for Broadband Connectivity to homes and businesses who currently receive speeds below 30Mbps.
For those that are ineligible for support funding, a one-off upfront Activation Fee of £75.00 (including VAT+) applies.
Once Installed, the equipment fitted (External Antenna) remains the property of TransmitAir Limited – unless installed with grant funding. If the contract is not renewed at the end of the contracted term, TransmitAir Limited may arrange to remove the equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can I get a connection?

What is installed at my property?
We’ll survey your property to ensure line of sight with our network.
Assuming we can connect you, we will install a small antenna. Your property’s distance from our network dictates the size of the antenna. Our smallest antenna is roughly the size of a large smartphone. Our larger antennae are no larger than a TV satellite dish.
Connected to the antenna, we install a small cable into your property and connect this to a router – not dissimilar to the type you’d get with a traditional broadband connection.
This router needs to be connected to a regular electrical socket. It has built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to enjoy internet browsing throughout your property*.
What if my property is not within line of sight?
As long as you have registered with us, our technicians can visit your property as part of our ‘survey and install’ service.
We will have ascertained whether you are eligible for any grant funding. If so, we will advise that the funding is triggered, and we can help in that process.
Regardless of the funding, if you are committed to proceed, our ‘survey and install’ will assess your property’s connection and – if we can connect at the speed you have requested – we will install and get you live.
If we cannot connect you, our technicians will tell you and there is no cost obligation for you. Depending on your location and proximity to our network, we may well be able to advise on alternatives.
How much does it cost?
Our service starts from £30.00** per month.
We offer a variety of packages to suit different requirements. Each package price is detailed above under ‘Our pricing’. The ‘gigabit’ service is ‘price on application’ so please click here to message one of our knowledgeable team who will respond as soon as they are able.
Are download and upload speeds affected by the amount of traffic at peak times?
Speeds of the connection we provide are not affected by busy periods or demand.
However, the speed of the internet and the sites you are visiting could well be affected subject to the demand on their services. This is not something any ISP can control.
What is the timeline for connectivity?
We are building our network in clusters: this ensures we can manage the delivery in staged phases – clusters of properties signing up. So we are not relying on thousands of customers in one go. We will need tens – not even hundreds – to start our build process, place by place. The more who sign-up, the faster our deployment. It is completely demand driven.
We are identifying optimum locations for our build start: these will be published to enable people to see our phased approach.
Do I need a phone line?
No. Unlike conventional broadband, our service does not require a landline.
Can I get a phone line or service from you?
Yes. We are able to provide a phone services through our network from an additional £10.00 per month. It includes unlimited UK Landline (01/02/03/0800 ) and UK Mobile Calls as standard and access to Emergency Calls on 999/101/112. It also provides voicemail to email.
Calls to premium rate numbers (defined as international calls and calls to 084/087/09 numbers) are charged in addition to the standard monthly fee. Some international destinations are barred by default. For a full list of all call charges, please follow this link.
We do not supply a telephone handset; your existing telephone can be connected directly to the Broadband Router (supplied as part of your broadband service).
You can retain your current landline number and transfer from your old provider to our system. There is a one-off cost of £25.00 for this. Please be aware that when you transfer your number to us, your line will cease on the day of the transfer and not re-start until it is connected. Times can vary but is normally completed within an estimated 10-15 working days. It is also important to note that:
- If your old number had a broadband service on it, it will also cease and you may be still liable for the remainder of the contract. Please consult with your provider before requesting a number transfer.
- If that line has any alarm functions connected to it (such as Red Care, Telecare or community alarm services) these will no longer function and must be cancelled before transferring your number. Please consult with your provider before requesting a number transfer.
We are able to provide a new number if required.
It should also be stressed that consumer broadband hubs provide no battery back-up; as a result, phone connectivity will be prevented when home power fails. Our team will be able to advise on battery pack back-ups: please enquire when ordering.
Can I use the broadband connection for any kind of internet use?
Yes. You should consider our service to be the same as any cable connection – only without a cable! There are no data limits subject to our Fair Use Policy. ***
Is this delivered via 5G?
No. This is Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) that meets with all industry/Ofcom approvals.
Cables are not affected by weather – surely wireless deployment is?
Cabling can be affected by bad weather. Many will be aware that, in times of flooding, ‘in the ground’ networks can be affected – sometimes for long periods of time.
Heavy rain and snow can affect wireless transmission; however we build tolerance into the system to cope with this. In the event of heavy snow, this may build up on your property’s antenna and you may experience an outage (similar to Sky TV). In this instance, if the snow can be brushed away (taking care not to damage the antenna) or the snow melts in time, the signal will return.
What happens if something goes wrong?
We monitor our network 24/7 – 365 days of the year. We will see if your service is down, but we will not contact you in that event as you may have chosen to disconnect the router. We will only respond if you contact us.
In the very unlikely event of an issue, we have an in-house team ready to put it right. You’ll be able to contact us if you experience a problem and we’ll fix it without delay.
If the problem turns out to be something that’s happened outside of our control, we’ll let you know and keep you updated by text or email.
Can I get a fixed IP address?
Yes. Fixed IP addressing is only available with our Business Service Packages. Fixed IP addresses are charged at £7.50 + VAT per month. Please click here to message our team who will be able to advise further.
What is EastNeukNow – can you expand on who is behind the project?

TransmitAir is our internet service provider – a registered supplier to the Scottish Government’s Broadband Voucher Scheme, the company is also a member of WISPA (the UK’s Wireless Internet Service Providers Association).
